A CAR CAN'T RUN ON VEGGIE OIL... CAN IT?
"Fill 'er up with Wesson?" Community Forum To Give Los Angeles An Up-Close Look At The Veggiemobile
On Wednesday, April 19th, Los Angeles is invited to come take a peek at cars with "Wessonality"... vegetable-oil-powered automobiles. A representative from LoveCraft Biofuels will be on hand to explain how to convert any diesel-powered vehicle into one powered by biofuels (such as vegetable oil). And he'll give us a look under the hood. Also, community activist Tracy Larkins will give one lucky Angeleno a ride in her own personal veggiemobile. And we'll also enjoy some refreshments, courtesy of Santa La Brea. This biofuels forum is sponsored by the Los Angeles Greens. It begins at 7pm, at the Los Angeles Peace Center, 8124 W. Third Street, L.A.
Many Angelenos would like to find a workable alternative to foreign oil, but questions persist about biofuel cars. Derek Iversen wonders, "Do these things actually work? Are they expensive? Do they smell weird? How's the ride?" Meanwhile, Lisa Taylor worries about convenience. "I'd get one myself, but how am I supposed to fill the thing?" The April 19th biofuels forum is a great opportunity to get the answers to these practical questions, and to learn about the emerging politics of the biofuels issue as well.
The Los Angeles Greens are the local chapter of the Green Party of California, a political movement devoted to promoting peace, grassroots democracy, social justice, and ecological wisdom. The L.A. Greens are the largest Green chapter in L.A. County, which contains the largest group of registered Greens in both California and the nation.
